TNT Runners get in the spirit

Thank you so much to the runners who participated in this years event.  With over 1400 registered and 1196 finishers, this was the 2nd largest event for us.

Click here for pictures from fotojack.com.  FYI they will not be available until 3-4 days after the event since bib numbers must be matched up on each picture. There will be hundreds to choose from including, what we hope, is a picture of every finisher.   Take a look and make this race a memory to last forever with a great picture.

Special Note:

There were a number of standout performances in each of the races, but one I want to call out is Alex Meyers who finished 3rd in his age group of 15-19 in the 5K.  Alex not only took on a strong competitive field but most importantly he is a survivor of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and is alive and able to compete 10 years after his diagnosis because of people like yourselves.   On behalf of Alex, all the other survivors, and the staff of the Western PA/WV Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, I express my sincerest thanks for your help in our continuing mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Hope to see everyone at next year's event set for Saturday March 28, 2009

Just a few notes from 2008 participants.

Wonderful event! My father passed away due to the ravages of Chronic Lymphocetic Leukemia 5 years ago, while I was living in California. I am now living back in the 'burgh, and I've been wanting to do this race in his honor. I did the 5K today. I thought everything was very well organized - and the course was just the right amount of challenging! My heart goes out to Kevin Smith. I admire you for your great efforts to find help and cures for the people who suffer from leukemia. Your attitude is an inspiration.

I just wanted to THANK YOU for a wonderful race! It was very well organized and the volunteers were terrific! I cannot believe how much "stuff" I left with! Shorts, shirt, medals, mug, goodie bag, oranges, banana, other food, and an overall sense of accomplishment! It is obvious that an incredible amount of work and planning and organizing went into today. It was fantastic! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I will definately run this one again!

Great race, great day .....  You really did a fantastic job this year again.  The kids at the water stops were supportive and the shot bloks were a great addition.  The course is great and the music at the boathouse really pumped us up.  I am thrilled to get a female version of the shorts this year that fit much better than those from last year.  I also won an award and the New Balance embroidered jacket was a wonderful surprise.  It is something that I will wear proudly for years.  Thanks again, your hard work is appreciated and I will be back again next year.
